Cover Sample Outline Sample Outline of Chapter One – Baptist Doctrine The Actual Lesson on Chapter 1 will be presented next week. This outline is being shared to help you get a grasp of the depth of future lectures. Please don’t expect an outline covering every lesson. Plan to simply receive an audio lecture on each lesson. As we are just getting started, wanted to share this as part of the Overview of the Lessons in the book. The first lecture will address material in Lesson 1. Taking this approach will allow time for those who want a book to order and receive it before the actual lessons begin. I. Definition of Terms A. Baptist B. Doctrine II. The Importance of Doctrine A. Christ’s Doctrine, John 7:16-17 III. Doctrinal Preaching A. Dislike of doctrinal preaching, 1 Corinthians 3:1-2 B. Need for doctrinal preaching, Hebrews 5:13-14 C. The position of God regarding doctrinal preaching, Jeremiah 23:22 IV. Questions A. 10 questions for review at end of chapter in book / These serve as an understanding check / Will be reviewed if submitted in a timely manner / Please submit by email B. Written assignment available if requested / Will welcome a topic ofyour own choosing as long as it stems from the lesson / Will review and respond to first three pages if submitted in a timely manner / Also to be submitted by email. Optional Written Assignment for This Lecture There will be some who would like to get started digging into this material. Knowing this to be the case, here is an optional assignment which could be completed without necessarily having the book in hand. If you would like a review and response, please complete and submit the following in a timely manner. In three pages or less, list and explain those doctrines which you understand to be uniquely Baptist. There is No limit to the time frame of those doctrines you might include in your list. The key here is to include those doctrines you know are “Uniquely Baptist”. Be careful to avoid getting yourself stuck in over analyzing this assignment.
