This VPS is not cutting it. If they don't stop these database outages, I will move this website back to a shared hosting account. I think it was working okay over there. Sorry for any inconvenience.

Apparently I did recieve notification:

On Tuesday, August 2 we will be performing proactive maintenance on your MySQL server from 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM PDT. During this maintenance window we anticipate approximately 30 minutes of intermittent connectivity disruptions to that MySQL service.
