The visions of Daniel explained in his seventh chapter capture all seven of the upcoming world kingdoms: Babylon, Persia, Greece, Rome, Revived Roman, The Abomination of Desolation, and Messianic Kingdom. All are written in a revelation where Daniel was given “the truth of all this … and the interpretation of the things” (Dan.7:16). Consequently, in Bible imagery “beasts” are empowered men, who rule world empires. The careful student of Bible prophecy knows some things about the Revived Roman Empire and it's “ten horns” (Dan.7:7,20,24, Rev.12:3, 13:1, 17:3,7,12,16). These ten horns are the ten toes destroyed by the “Stone cut out without hands” (Dan.2:34-35,42-44). Nebuchadnezzar's dream about the toes, recorded in Daniel 2, “is certain and the interpretation thereof sure” (2:45).

Make no mistake here, the sixth kingdom, ruled by the Abomination of Desolation, is not ruled by ten kings, they are upstaged by“The Little Horn” of Dan.7:8; called “The King of Fierce Countenance” of Dan.8:23; called “The Prince that shall come” of Dan.9:26; called “The King that exalts himself” of Dan.11:36; called “The Abomination that maketh desolate” of Daniel 12:11; also called “The Man of sin” of 2Thes.2:4-8; and “The Beast from the sea with ten horns and seven heads” of Rev.13:1.

Many have misnomered this “beast”, the empowered man who will rule the one world government in a new world order and strive to stamp out Israel, calling him “Anti-Christ,” but there are many anti-christs, there is only one “Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel the prophet,” and Jesus says, “who so readeth, let him understand.” There will be a one world system, with one dreadful world leader, just as Bible prophecy clarifies. But believers are not looking for him, we are looking for “the Lord himself descending from heaven with a shout” (1Thes.4:16-18).
