What The Bible Says - Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice | ||||
Msg #2321God's Prophet n God's TimingWhat The Bible Says Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice And Elijah the Tishbite, who was of the inhabitants of Gilead, said unto Ahab, As the LORD God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but according to my word. (1Kngs.17:1). Elijah (Hbrw – Jehovah is God) walks onto the page of our Bible with no introduction. He announces to King Ahab, who did evil in the sight of the LORD above all that were before him, his call for judgment by his very own plan for “climate change.” Now, when a man wearing the title “The LORD he is God” opens his mouth to announce a judgment against a vile world that teaches in its K-12 schools that “Baal he is god”, that man puts a target on his back and needs a backup plan. Did Elijah have a backup plan? An escape strategy? An end game? Yes, he did. It was not written in his day planner. It was not all prearranged with ravines and widows. It was written down by a wise king one-hundred years earlier and it said this, “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” (Prov.3:5-6) I especially like verse two of our text. It seems Elijah is stepping out of Ahab's palace and looking for the next path to take, and voila he steps into 1Kngs.17:2. Christian, you are wearing the title “Christ is in me” and you're charged to preach the gospel message “Only Jesus Saves” to a vile world that teaches in its K-12 schools that there is no God, and only government can save, … save you from “climate change.” Christian, open your mouth and preach. Backup plan: “Trust in the Lord.” An Essay for week #21 - May 21, 2023 Msg in audio at www.GSBaptistChurch.com/audio/gs230521.mp3 Have a Systematic Theology visit www.GSBaptistChurch.com/theology Copyright © 2023 Good Samaritan Baptist Church, All Public Domain, Freely Copy and Distribute.
