Msg#2529b The Mystery Iniquity

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan’s Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way”(2Thes.2:7). Iniquity is “injustice and unrighteousness” and understanding this revelation requires understanding that 1) the Holy Spirit of God is the “he” in this verse and the “he” indwells the born-again-saved believer; 2) God can block iniquity, restrain iniquity, or open the floodgates for iniquity; 3) the church itself is laden with iniquity and 4) there is coming a day when Christ comes for his saints, before he comes with his saints. The indwelling of the Holy Ghost in believing saints is seen in a short read through Romans 8. God’s ability to hedge or block iniquity is seen in a short read through of Job 1 and 2. The church being laden with iniquity is seen in a proper rendering of Matt.13:33. Romans taught Protestants to render “leaven” as gospel good, the “woman” as the gospel preacher, and the “whole being leavened” as the whole world being saved; all exactly opposite of what the Scriptures teach. Revelation 2-3 show Prophetic Church History whereby catholics get worse and worse until the whole lukewarm lump is spewed out of “his” mouth.

Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him” that you understand the context of this mystery of iniquity (2Thes.2:1-12). The divine restraint of lawlessness began in the apostle’s time (vr.7). The man of sin, this son of perdition (vr.3), this abomination of desolation, the little horn, the king of fierce countenance, the willful king, the Beast of Rev.13, would only be unrestrained after the Holy Ghost indwelling the church is taken out of the way, i.e. in the rapture. Even so come, Lord Jesus.
