In seven apostasies Israel “forsook the LORD God of their fathers, … followed other gods, … provoked the LORD to anger” (Jud.2:12), and God raised up thirteen judges before Samuel became the authoritative prophet. “And the word of the LORD was precious in those days; … And the LORD said to Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle” (1Sam.3:1,11). Israel’s high-priest died after his two “sons of Belial” died taking the ark of the testimony out of the tabernacle to aid in their war effort. Samuel, Israel’s Prophet and Priest, says; “If ye do return unto the LORD with all your hearts, then put away the strange gods and Ashtaroth from among you, and prepare your hearts unto the LORD, and serve him only: and he will deliver you out of the hand of the Philistines. … And they gathered together … and fasted on that day, and said there, We have sinned against the LORD. … And the children of Israel said to Samuel, Cease not to cry unto the LORD our God for us, that he will save us out of the hand of the Philistines”(1Sam.7:3,6,8).
Christians in prayer for a forty day prayer runup (40Days4God.com) have seen a tremendous miracle in this election, but there’s more required to Making America Godly Again. “As Samuel was offering up the burnt offering, the Philistines drew near to battle against Israel: but the LORD thundered with a great thunder on that day upon the Philistines, and discomfited them; and they were smitten before Israel. … Then Samuel took a stone, and set it … and called the name of it Ebenezer, saying, Hitherto hath the LORD helped us” (vr.10,12). Let’s pray without ceasing.

PS: Thank you LORD for the 47th President Elect, Donald J. Trump; LORD, thou hast heard the desire of the humble: thou wilt prepare their heart, thou wilt cause thine ear to hear: To judge the fatherless and the oppressed, that the man of the earth may no more oppress, or slander, or condemn, or impeach, or assassinate.
For those who took 40Days4God seriously, another 40 days of prayer and praise is in order.
