ElectionMsg#160903 How to Pray for America Tip#2

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Before suggesting how to pray this week let me say, “”In God is my salvation and my glory: the rock of my strength, and my refuge, is in God. Trust in him at all times; ye people, pour out your heart before him: God is a refuge for us. Selah” (Psalm 62:7-8).

This week I worded my prayer for America out of Exodus 23:

Lord you sent your Angel before me, to keep me in the way, and to bring me into the place which thou hast prepared. Father, you told Israel, “If thou shalt indeed obey his voice, and do all that I speak; then I will be an enemy unto thine enemies, and an adversary unto thine adversaries” (vr. 22). Lord our present leadership is both enemy and adversary to your cross, and my witness of your only begotten Son.

Barack Hussein Obama and his replacement Hillary Rodham Clinton are reprobate, without moral scruples, unprincipled, and morally corrupt. They reject you as their Creator, and worship the creature and the transvestite! Father, you told your Prophet Samuel, Behold, I will do a thing in Israel, at which both the ears of every one that heareth it shall tingle. Lord, do something like that in Washington DC. That they may know that you are the LORD God of heaven and earth. And Lord, may you get all the glory, and the brash and the arrogant get none. In Christ's name, and for his names sake. Amen.

New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms tells me, “Here in the Empire State, Sen. Chuck Schumer is seeking re-election to the post he has held since 1999. If he is re-elected, Sen. Schumer, a Democrat, has announced that he will run for the leadership post being vacated by retiring Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV). Sen. Schumer faces a challenge from Republican attorney Wendy Long of Manhattan. Long previously ran for U.S. Senate in 2012 and was defeated by Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand.”

Chuck Schumer may not be as reprobate as Hillary, but he is just as delusional. If you think of it, please pray a similar prayer for him and Albany NY.

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

When David writes the sixty second Psalm it is evident that he is in the throws of learning the lesson that he writes. It is easy to preach “Wait upon the Lord,” but practice is the great challenge in this regard. “Truly my soul waiteth upon God: from him cometh my salvation” (vr. 1). English is a slovenly language. The fifty-seven linguistic experts who took seven years to translate the Bible did an unparalleled job. The added word “cometh” is fruit of their superior work. Salvation is not just something that happened in an English past tense: it happened in the past, Christ saved me; it happens in the present, Christs saves me; and it will happen in the future, he will save me. It is laborious to capture that in English, but in the Bible languages of Greek and Hebrew such a tense is built right into the exacting language. The advantage of learning Greek and Hebrew is not a deeper insight into what God says, but in a deeper assurance that God said what he meant and meant what he said. In that regard do not trust a modernist scholar who promises to tell you what God meant to say. If it is copyright it is not copied right. “He only is my rock and salvation: he is my defence; I shall not be greatly moved” (vr.2). The act of writing this Psalm moves David. Notice when he rehearses this reasoning in verse six, he leaves out one word. In this day and age it is chore enough to get Christians to shut off the TV and read God's Word, but I would advance that getting out a pen and writing God's stuff down will cause one to be “greatly moved.” Then they shall not be moved.

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

“And the seventh angel sounded; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever” (Rev.11:15). That our Lord Jesus Christ would one day be King of kings cannot be disputed by anyone who has read their Bible. Roman theologians, their mean-well-reformers, and Satan himself, have insisted that he not rule from the Throne of David situated on God's holy hill of Zion in the city Jerusalem, and that he not rule for a millennium. Revelation 20 insists six times that it is a millennium, but they call that “allegorical.” For the Bible believer, Christ being King of kings, occupying the Throne of David in Zion, and regathering all twelve tribes of Israel to their promised land is perfect fulfillment of what he promised. “Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it (Isa.9:7)… Behold, a king shall reign in righteousness, and princes shall rule in judgment (32:1)…. And my people shall dwell in a peaceable habitation (32:18)… Thine eyes shall see the king in his beauty (33:17)… Look upon Zion, the city of our solemnities: thine eyes shall see Jerusalem a quiet habitation,… For the LORD is our judge, the LORD is our lawgiver, the LORD is our king; he will save us (33:20-22)… No lion shall be there, nor any ravenous beast shall go up thereon, … but the redeemed shall walk there: And the ransomed of the LORD shall return, and come to Zion with songs and everlasting joy upon their heads” (35:9-10). The Kingdom Age is the seventh and last dispensation.

Msg#1642 Armageddon

Msg#1642 Armageddon

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

The one word from Biblical Eschatology most know in all the world is “Armageddon.” Christians dare not be ignorant of its significance. It is a Hebrew word from our Greek New Testament. Justly so, because it brings an end to the “times of the Gentiles” (Luke 21:24), and installs the Throne of David in the city of Jerusalem (Psalm 2). Transliterated from Hebrew, Armageddon is the mountain (Hebrew rh – har) at Megiddo, the place of crowds. It is a place where the seventh and final vial full of the wrath of God is poured out on the Gentile nations (Rev 16:12-17). A place where all the kings and armies of the world gather themselves together to annihilate Israel (Isa 34:1-2, Jer 25:31-33, Ezek 39:24-24, Joel 3:9-16, Obd 1:15-16, Zeph 3:8), Zech 12:9). A place where the KING of kings and LORD of lords comes riding in to save his chosen and elect nation, Israel (Rev 19:11-19, Isa 24:21-23, 26:20-21, 63:1-3, 66:15, Joel 2:1-2, Zech 14:3-4). The Roman Church and their Protestant Reformers do not believe in the restoration of Israel, so they cannot begin to understand this Battle of Armageddon. In fact they end up riding with the great red dragon having seven heads and ten horns (Rev 12:3, 17:3). That Roman/Protestant Church is called the evil woman (Prov 6:24), Jezebel (Rev 2:20), and the Mother of Harlots (Rev 17:5). Her robed “Clergy” are not just woefully ignorant of this Battle of Armageddon, they are diabolically involved. Armageddon is not the end of the world, it is the end of Gentile kings ruling in God's Holy City, Jerusalem. If a Christian is going to rightly divide the word of truth, they need to know some things about the Second Advent of Christ. Even so come Lord Jesus.

Msg#1641 The Tribulation

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

The disciples were eager for Christ to set up his kingdom but before that comes he said, “Then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be” (Matt24:21). Understanding Biblical prophecy of the last days hangs on the acceptance of the fact that the dispensation of grace that we live in must end before the dispensation of the Millennial Kingdom can begin. And before the Kingdom, God will judge the nations of the Earth and pour out his wrath in a seven year tribulation period. That seven year period involves the twelve tribes of Israel, it doesn't involve the Church. “Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel” is then given to the 144 thousand, the church has been raptured. This is a time when God fulfills promises to Israel, and theologians can't force fit it into the church. Charles Hodge, a noted Presbyterian theologian who wrote 2,400 pages of Systematic Theology, said of the Second Advent of Christ, “This is a very comprehensive and very difficult subject.” He goes on to say that he has no qualifications to write about such a difficult subject. Presbyterian doctrine is that they are the new elect of God and that he is forever done with the twelve tribes of Israel. Discerning God's dispensations makes the “very difficult” very straight forward. The seven year tribulation period does not involve the Church. Fleeing from Jerusalem when the abomination of desolation is seen, enduring to the end, and refusing the mark of the beast are things written to tribulation period saints, and they are different from Church-age saints. Pursuing Biblical prophecy properly can open up a lot of Bible truths, but only when one rightly divides the Word of truth.

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

The second coming of Christ is in two phases: when he comes FOR his saints in accord with 1Thes 4:16-17 and when he comes WITH his saints in accord with 1Thes 3:18 and of course Revelation 19. The ability to discern the seven year separation between the two is not present in any Roman or Reformed theologian. Both use the ancient allegorical method of Roman Catholic Saint Origen (AD 185-254) to suppose that the Catholic Church has replaced Israel and it is presently living through the tribulation period. Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of those scornful protestants. Keep your delight in the law of the LORD, and it says “We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed” (1Cor 15:51b-52). The resurrection and life said, “Whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die.” This last trump and catching away of believers is portrayed in the NONALLEGORICAL Revelation of Jesus Christ when John “looked, and, behold, a door was open in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will shew thee things which must be hereafter” (Rev 4:1). John was caught away, transported, raptured and did indeed see the things which must be hereafter. Literal things, not allegorical, catholic things. Trust God's Word; he means what he says and he says what he means. The rapture of the church is not some come-lately doctrine of Baptists, it is pure Bible.

ElectionMsg#161001 How to Pray for America Tip#6

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

In my Bible the servants of God do not pray the mercy, grace, or salvation of God on their enemies. Some of David's imprecatory psalms (et. al. 109, 69, 70) are almost embarrassingly counter to Christ's command, “Love your enemies.” He prayed, “Add iniquity unto their iniquity: and let them not come into thy righteousness” (Ps 69:27). We face some bitter enemies of the cross of Christ. Some are leaders of our nation and we need not shy away from such vitriol. Look at what Nehemiah prayed for those who opposed the work of God: “Hear, O our God; for we are despised: and turn their reproach upon their own head, and give them for a prey in the land of captivity” (Neh 4:4). When the leaders of a country are leading into paths of unrighteousness, they are deserving of God's judgment. When the whole country is following they will soon be as deserving. “LORD God judge our leaders and bring them down in their confusion. Father have mercy on this mislead nation and forgive her vile trespasses. In the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, your Only Begotten Son, our Saviour, and for his names sake I ask. Amen, and amen.” Pray for America. There are no solutions coming from this Clinton/Trump election.

New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms writes:

New York's 27 Members of Congress consist of 18 Democrats and nine Republicans. Four New York Members of Congress – Reps. Steve Israel (D-NY3), Charles Rangel (D-NY13), Chris Gibson (R-NY19), and Richard Hanna (R-NY22) – are not seeking re-election. Notable New York congressional races are occurring in New York's First, 19th, 22nd, and 24th Districts.

Please pray for New York State, one of the most progressive, liberal, and socialistic states of the Union.

Msg#1638 An Ark in the House

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

Striving to do the right thing in the wrong way kindles the anger of the LORD. Praise the Lord we are under grace. Christians have a mediator who is our propitiation and we are not appointed to wrath. Just the same, doing things God's way ought to occupy more of our attention. In the throws of David moving the Ark of God to the City of God he obtained a proper fear of God, and “So David brought not the ark home to himself in the city of David, but carried it aside into the house of Obededom the Gittite” (1Chron13:12-13). At the Northeast Summit Pastor Shirley showed why we should be diligent students of Obededom. When the ark came to Obededom's house that day everything changed. It took David three months to put in order the whole house of Levi. In Scripture they were the ones charged with ministering before the ark. David set in order the Levitical priesthood and it was was followed until the coming of Christ. It is laborious to read all the Hebrew names that Ezra records in the Chronicles, but worth the effort when we follow the family name Obededom. When David took the Ark of the Covenant from Obededom's house, Obededom went with it. In those three months Obed signed up for harp lessons. God put a new song in this heart and he became both an ark porter, and a harp player (1Chron 15:18-21). Obededom also became a door keeper for the ark (vr. 25). It seems he, his eight sons, and sixty-eight of his kin volunteered for every position available (16:38, 26:4). They became door keepers, recorders, thanks givers and the ark praise team (16:5, 26:13-15). I should be doing more because in 1958 the Ark came to my dad's house.

ElectionMsg#160924 How to Pray for America Tip#5

Greetings in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Amos chapter one through four is God's notice of pending judgment and notification that it had already begun. “Yet have ye not returned unto me, saith the LORD. Therefore thus will I do unto thee, O Israel: and because I will do this unto thee, prepare to meet thy God, O Israel” (Amos 4:11b-12). God's lamentation and woe occupy the next two chapters but in chapter seven Amos prays, “O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small…. O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall Jacob arise? for he is small” (7:2,5). From sending the grasshopper to devour, and then sending a consuming fire, the Bible records God's response to Amos' prayer, “The LORD repented for this: It shall not be, saith the LORD…. The LORD repented for this: This also shall not be, saith the Lord GOD” (7:3,6). Dare we pray any less? In America disease, famine, and pestilence have begun, drought, fire, and flood are in the news. She thinks it's because we are burning coal! And the whole of our leadership are reprobate and come to confusion.

O Lord GOD, forgive, I beseech thee: by whom shall America arise? for he is small…. O Lord GOD, cease, I beseech thee: by whom shall America arise? for he is small.

Awake America writes: (http://www.awakeamericaonline.org) :

“What Is a Constitutional Republic? This is a form of government in which a country's people and their chosen representatives are bound by the tenets of their constitution. The concept of our republic and our representative government is based upon Exodus 18:21, 25…. Our government, a republic in standing, chose to allow citizen voters to elect legislators to represent them.”

New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms writes: “The House of Representatives is composed of 247 Republicans and 186 Democrats, with two seats vacant. Members of the House of Representatives are elected to two-year terms. All 435 seats will be filled this fall, and the Republican Party is expected to retain control of the House.”

It is not to late for America. Pray for God's mercy.

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

Christians tend to fuss and fret when politicians, circumstances, and/or friends turn against them. A stand for righteousness does that. In similar circumstances Elisha's servant cried out, “Alas, my master! How shall we do?” (2Kings 6:15). At IBPF Pastor Calibretta pointed out that the servant needed to know, and we need reminded, that, “They that be with us are more than they that be with them” (Vr. 16). There is an army of Satan around us. We wrestle not with flesh and blood, and Satan's “got the whole world in his hand.” He hates what God loves: Israel, marriage, children (they call them embryos), law and order, Christians, and whatsoever things are honest. He is the enemy of God, and born-again believers are the servants of God. Roll-play the servant. A servant is one who works to make another a success. Just as Gehazi, Elisha's previous servant was sent to tell commander Naaman how to be healed of leprosy, Christ's servants are sent to be ministers of reconciliation (2Cor 5:17-19). The normal progression is believer, to disciple, to servant, to friend of God, but the foremost roll is that of a servant. So that his servant would recognize their advantage, Elisha asked God to open his eyes. So that the enemy would do his beck and call, Elisha asked God to close theirs. If you, as his servant are going to see the angels all around you, you must turn to 2Kings 6; he wrote it down for our learning. It would behoove all of us to fret and stew about our circumstances a little less and recall that we have his enemies out numbered and out gunned. They are indeed in blindness and confusion of face. There has never been a better time to be a minster of reconciliation.
