FBC is a recently established work seeking a pastor to act as our local shepherd. This work began in February 2020 and has a group of 8-10 people who are currently meeting in a home every Sunday. It is our extreme desire to see this work grow and prosper!
While other Baptist churches are in the area, no sound (fundamental, independent Baptist) churches are within city limits. Three small, local churches are sound; however, they are all 10‑15 miles outside of the city of Alpena, and only one is technically in Alpena (realistically, it is in Cathro, a microtown that is more of a ghost town; one is in Ossineke, and the other is Long Lake: all have expressed their support in the establishment of Faith Baptist). We aim to see an independent, fundamental Baptist church established in the city of Alpena or as near to it as possible. Two modern churches in Alpena claim the name “Baptist” but do not hold to the old, Biblical ways. Alpena is located in northeast Michigan on the shores of Lake Huron. It is the largest city in the area, with the next largest being Gaylord, which is almost 2 hours away. The city of Alpena is comprised of approximately 10,000 souls, with the county having around 20,000 souls. Please note: no address or phone is known for this church.
