| Judges 15:14 And when he came unto Lehi, the Philistines shouted against him: and the Spirit of the LORD came mightily upon him, and the cords that were upon his arms became as flax that was burnt with fire, and his bands loosed from off his hands. Sometimes we picture Samson has a big muscled man that was stronger than anyone else. I believe that is probably true but it is good to remember that it was the power of the Holy Spirit that made him who he was. The Spirit came on him. Then he was able to break the cords so easily. He will later lose his power. It will not be his muscles that fail but that God will no longer use him. The Bible story is never about us and our abilities but Him and His abilities. God is able. God does great things. God uses us and works in and through us. I need work on my abilities and talents. I need to put forth my effort but at the same time I need to remember that it is God that does the work and without Him I am nothing. Continue ... |
