Msg #2303 True, Honest, and Just

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

Christians are admonished to keep our minds stayed on things that are true, things that are honest, and things that are just (Phil.4:8). We presently live in a world that is diametrically opposed to all three of these virtues. A radical faction is in majority control of our government, and its corruption is anchored and built on lies, dishonesty, and injustice. I pray they will be over-turned, but find no reason to put trust in a voting booth. God described Judah when she was in a similar straight, “Judgment is turned away backward, and justice standeth afar off: for truth is fallen in the street, and equity cannot enter” (Isa.59:14). Equity is “impartial distribution of justice; treating a person according to justice and reason.” (Noah Webster 1828). To the Marxist socialist that is now in control, “equity” has nothing to do with justice, and now means “everyone is provided what they need to reach an equal outcome.”

The prophet continues, “Yea, truth faileth; and he that departeth from evil maketh himself a prey: and the Lord saw it, and it displeased him that there was no judgment” (Isa.59:15). The prophet goes on, “According to their deeds, accordingly he will repay, fury to his adversaries, recompense to his enemies” (59:18). But between God's displeasure and God's fury stands an intercessor who puts on righteousness as a breastplate, and an helmet of salvation upon his head (59:16–17, cf Eph.6:10–18).

What is a Christian to do under Marxist oppression? It is not a new thing in this world. “Be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might… take unto you the whole armour of God,… And whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just… think on these things” (Eph.6:10, 13, Phil.4:8). May God bless.
