In Isaiah chapter seven Judah is under the attack of Rezin, the world, and Pekah, the modernist, and the proposed answer is the arrival of the Son of God (vr.14). In chapter eight the Assyrians came as a flood and the answer was not in a confederacy, but in the written Word (vr.1), and the living Word (a “stone of stumbling” and a “rock of offense” vr.14). In chapter nine the attack is from spiritual darkness and errant leadership (vr.2,16), and the marvelous answer proposed is a child born whose name is called Wonderful, Counselor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace (vr.6). In chapter ten Judah is under the disciplining hand of God, and the answer is to turn to the Son, the Rod of correction, the Branch to grow out of the root (11:1). In chapter eleven there is restoration and a promised Kingdom age to come. The six verses of chapter twelve promise and illuminate the “so great salvation” of Hebrews 2. Christ is always the answer.

Isaiah chapter thirteen describes the battle of Armageddon coming to the Gentile world (vr.1,9-16). In chapter fourteen Israel is redeemed (vr.1-11), and Satan is destroyed (vr.12-17). In chapters 15-23 Isaiah records the burdens of the Gentile nations and all nations are held accountable (14:26,34:2). The Protestant, with his catholic covenant theology, cannot begin to comprehend the book of Isaiah, but a Bible student, believing the coming rapture and end of the church age, the coming seven year tribulation period, the coming Millennial Kingdom and the Great White Throne judgment before the new heaven and new earth are formed (i.e. the Dispensational teachings of the Bible), finds that Isaiah fits into the Revelation of Jesus Christ like a glove.
