Msg #2044 Truth in an Age of Lies

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

A stalwart of the faith, on an anniversary Sunday, said, “No matter the direction of this world or our nation, there are seven truths we held dear thirty-nine years ago and I still hold as truth today.” The plight before us begs a review of those seven truths.

I believe the Holy Bible. It is the ark of the covenant for the born-again believer. It is the infallible, inerrant, verbally inspired word of God. It is the preserved Word of God. “The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever” (Isaiah40:8, The Holy Bible). It is not preserved by modernist ecumenical scholars in copyright modernist translations. I believe in Bible preaching. “For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe” (1Cor 1:21). I believe in the local, independent, autonomous, Bible believing church. Jesus said, “I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matt16:18). “But if I tarry long, that thou mayest know how thou oughtest to behave thyself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth” (1Tim3:15). In a day of lies and deceptions, America needs a “pillar and ground of the truth.” Praise the Lord it has been constitutionally protected for two-hundred and twenty-nine years. As that protection wanes in this pandemic, praise the the Lord, it is protected for all eternity by our Lord Jesus Christ.

I believe that sin is still sin. I believe in tithing of all my increase. I believe in living the the Christian life; daily crucified with Christ living. I most certainly believe we need God.
