“Make thee two trumpets of silver; ... that thou mayest use them for the calling of the assembly, and for the journeying of the camps”(Num 10:2). Curious, there are two Trumps in the Bible, and also a Good Samaritan giving two Pence. After the two Trumps sound off, “all the assembly shall assemble themselves to thee at the door of the tabernacle of the congregation” (vr. 3). To the Bible student who has put away the Roman and Protestant / Reformed “Covenant Theology”, and grappled with the dispensational truths of the Bible, this resonates with the Biblical teaching of the rapture of the Church (1Thes4:13-18, 1Cor 15:51-58). The Hebrew memorial of blowing of trumpets entailed three holy convocations (a group gathered in response to a summons) (Lev23:24,27, 34), and these are mirrored in the age of grace wherein Bible believers listen for a trumpet; having a holy convocation in the clouds when the Bridegroom calls for his Bride (come up hither), having a holy convocation at the Bema Seat of Christ and having a holy convocation at the wedding table with Christ as we began our forever tabernacling with Christ in reality. “But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.... Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober” (1Thes 5:1,6). Israel should be listening for a trumpet, commemorated in these feasts. Bible Christians are listening for a trumpet that will call us out of this world. Keep your nose to the ground, your eye on the clouds and your ear toward the heavens listening for the trumpet. The ecclesia will have a holy convocation.
