Jesus told His disciples that He would not leave them comfortless. He promised them He would send the Comforter, the Blessed Holy Spirit. The Spirit of God would indwell them; He would lead them; He would help them; & He would comfort them.
Jesus did not leave them DEFENSELESS either! He put a mighty Sword in their hands. The Word of God is a sharp two-edged Sword. When we wield that Sword effectively we can defeat the world, the flesh, & the Devil. The weapons of our warfare are mighty ( 11 Cor. 10:4 ). Prayer & God’s Word can help us overcome the Evil One.
It is tragic when you see someone who is DEFENSELESS being attacked & receiving blow after blow without being able to protect themselves or fight back. The Lord graciously provided for His followers a mighty Sword to use. The Lord Jesus is our example in how He used God’s Word against Satan when He was tempted on the mountain.
So Christian friend, pick up your Bible. Read it daily. Meditate on the scriptures. Memorize verses. You are not DEFENSELESS! You have a sharp & powerful Sword you can use to defeat the enemy.
