Msg #2032 Stand Up, Fast, and Out

What The Bible Says

Good Samaritan's Penny Pulpit by Pastor Ed Rice

Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, answered and said to the king, O Nebuchadnezzar, we are not careful to answer thee in this matter. ..., be it known unto thee, O king, that we will not serve thy gods, nor worship the golden image which thou hast set up” (Dan 3:16-18). In America a stand against the rulings of the governing is now called for. The princes, the governors, and the captains, the judges, the treasurers, the counsellors, the sheriffs, and all the rulers of the provinces, can forbid the “gathering of ourselves together” for worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. Curtailing a couple services to “flatten the curve” that terrified them is one thing, but four months later fining churches and jailing Baptist pastors because they obey Hebrews 10:25, is quite another. Pray for pastors that are standing up, “Who will rise up for (God) against the evildoers... who will STAND UP for (God) against the workers of iniquity!” They did not dwell in silence, so pray their foot not slip and that “Thy mercy, O LORD” hold them up (Psalm 94:16-18). Pray that they, as these three Hebrew men, would “Stand therefore, having (their) loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness” (Eph 6:14). Pray they will STAND FAST in the faith, quit you like men, and be strong (1Cor 16:13). That they “stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel; And (be) in nothing terrified by (their) adversaries” (Philip 1:27-28). Pray also that God will cause them to STAND OUT … a peculiar people; that (they) should shew forth the praises of him who hath called (them) out of darkness into his marvellous light” (1Pet 2:9) I pray that you will stand with them. God Bless.
